2018 RACE RECAP

                                      THE STARS SHINE INDOORS JUNIORMOTOX

The third annual Lucas Oil JuniorMotoX  brought out the stars of amateur motocross to battle for championships and race on some of the best motocross dirt found anywhere.

Oklahoma native Trey Canard was an incredible ambassador to the event throughout the weekend and was often seen in a bulldozer helping with track maintenance, chatting with families and working tirelessly to keep the racers safe.

Nathan Ramsey, Josh Woods, Robbie Reynard and Robbie Smith all combined to provide coaching on Thursday morning before practice started.

The real excitement began Friday when the qualifying races began to determine who would make the big show.

California’s Aiden Tijero (KTM) and Oklahoma local Jesse Flock (Kawasaki) both went home with three wins apiece. Tijero dominated 125 2 Stroke,

Stroke Challenge and 250 B LTD while Flock showed the way in Schoolboy 2, 250B and Open B.

California produced another three class winner with Ryder DiFrancesco

(Monster Kawasaki / Team Green) taking wins in 85 9-12, 85 SR1 and SR2.  Haiden Deegan raced to two class championships in 65 9-11 and 85 9-11.

SuperMini 1 and SuperMini 2 were among the most exciting races of the weekend.  Crockett Myers and Kaeden Amerine each took a win with Matthew LeBlanc, Jeremy Ryan, Jack Chambers and Larry Reyes filling out the podiums.

Mikayla Nielsen took home two wins in the girl’s classes with Katie Benson taking the top spot in Women’s Open.

Kade Johnson delivered the first big win for Yamaha aboard the all new YZ 65 taking the top spot in 65 10-11. Kade was joined by Thor Powell and Ryder Thompson on the podium.

The Fox Holeshot was exciting in every race but was not a guaranteed win.  The final race of the night was the Fox sponsored Jesse Cup and Jeremy Ryan took the Fox Holeshot and the overall win followed closely by Kaeden Amerine and Larry Reyes.

After two days of racing, dozens of podium interviews by Kristen Beat and 1000’s of laps ridden by racers from around the country JuniorMotoX 2018 has come to a close.  Look for complete race results and photos at www.juniormotox.com
